How did Montélimar become the capital of nougat.
The renown of the famous nougat of Montélimar is partially thanks to Emile Loubet, Mayor of the city and later President of the Republic, in 1899.
This somewhat opportunistic good treat started being saled around the railway station with the emergence of the train, then along the National 7 and its memorable traffic jam, and finally on the motorway service area of Montélimar, after its construction.
Today, Montélimar has about ten nougat factories, each with its own history and recipe. Arnaud Soubeyran is the oldest of them.
